Silicon alloy steel with silicon content of 1.0 to 4.5% and carbon content of less than 0.08% is called silicon steel. It has the characteristics of high permeability, low coercivity, and large resistivity, so hysteresis loss and eddy current loss are small. Mainly used as magnetic materials in motors, transformers, electrical appliances and electrical instruments. In order to meet the needs of punching and shearing when manufacturing electrical appliances, a certain degree of plasticity is also required. In order to improve the magnetic induction performance and reduce the hysteresis loss, it is required that the content of harmful impurities is as low as possible, and the plate shape is required to be flat and the surface quality is good.

Performance characteristics

Silicon steel takes iron core loss (referred to as iron loss) and magnetic induction (referred to as magnetic induction) as the guaranteed magnetic value of the product. The low loss of silicon steel can save a lot of electricity, prolong the working time of motors and transformers and simplify the cooling system. The power loss caused by the loss of silicon steel accounts for 2.5% to 4.5% of the annual power generation, of which the iron loss of the transformer accounts for about 50%, the 1-100kW small motor accounts for about 30%, and the fluorescent lamp ballast accounts for about 15%.

The magnetic induction of silicon steel is high, and the excitation current of the iron core is reduced, which also saves electricity. The high magnetic induction of silicon steel can make the maximum magnetic induction (Bm) of the design high, the core volume is small, and the weight is light, saving silicon steel, wires, insulating materials and structural materials, etc., which not only reduces the loss and manufacturing cost of motors and transformers, but also facilitates assembly. and transportation. The motor, which is composed of toothed circular punching sheets stacked into an iron core, works in a running state. The silicon steel sheet is required to be magnetically isotropic and made of non-oriented silicon steel. The transformers that are stacked into iron cores from strips or wound into iron cores from strips work in a static state and are made of cold-rolled oriented silicon steel with large magnetic anisotropy. In addition, silicon steel is required to have good punching and shearing properties, smooth surface and uniform thickness, good insulating film and small magnetic aging.

3. The surface is smooth, flat and uniform in thickness, which can improve the filling factor of the iron core.
